Mammography
You may have had a screening mammogram at Langley Hospital or at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH). Sometimes, after screening mammography, additional films and/or breast ultrasound will be necessary to clarify findings on your screening mammogram. These examinations are performed in our clinics.
You may be contacted by one of our receptionists to make appointments for these additional tests, or you may be advised by your physician directly. After the tests are done, we will send a report to your family physician, who will discuss the results with you.
Diagnostic Mammography refers to the special additional views needed to determine if a finding detected at screening mammography is significant. Most of the time, the results of these tests indicate benign findings, but occasionally they will lead to a breast biopsy.
