 Referring Clinicians and Specialists can now view patient images and reports stored on the VMI PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) remotely from their own office computers via the internet. This service is currently available for general x-ray and ultrasound examinations performed at the Chilliwack office only.
Images will be available immediately following completion of the patient’s exam and reports are generally available within one business day.
The images can be viewed via the website browser (InteleBrowser) or alternately a viewing software can be downloaded (InteleViewer). The InteleViewer software offers various options for displaying the images - some of these features include:
- intuitive tools and highly configurable GUI (graphical user interface)
- thumbnail display with drag and drop image layout
- Orthogonal and oblique MPR (multiplanar reconstruction) advanced 3D
- Linear measurement, angles, ROIs, VOIs
- Real-time cine display, cross-reference lines, 3D cursor

Please note that the other Valley Medical Imaging clinics in Abbotsford and Langley are still using analogue systems (film) for now, however, the Radiologists plan to eventually implement this new digital technology through the practice.
