Remote Access to PACS - New Process - ACTION REQUIRED

Beginning June 12th, 2023, we will be transitioning to a new RIS/PACS program. This software aims to be an all-in-one clinic solution for all of our locations.

This software provides the ability to view patient's images and reports via secure website portal shortly after the examination has been completed.

If you are interested in receiving information about this service, please complete the PACS application form.

PACS APPLICATION FORM

Download and complete the PACS APPLICATION FORM and fax it to your primary clinic:

  • Abbotsford physicians fax to: 604-855-0109
  • Langley physicians fax to: 604-534-7877
  • Chilliwack physicians fax to: 604-795-3543

You will be emailed a weblink, credentials and instructions. Please allow five business days for your request to be processed.

Thank you for choosing Valley Medical Imaging.

Instructions for Viewing CDs

To view data on a CD:

  1. Exit any open applications.
  2. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
The INTELEVIEWER software that is saved on the CD launches automatically. The Search tool appears and displays the studies that are available on the CD.
Note: If you insert a CD for viewing while INTELEVIEWER is already running, you can still open the files. However, the Search tool will differ slightly.
  3. To view a study, double-click it in the Search tool.
The version of INTELEVIEWER that is included on the CD contains many of the same tools as the full version of INTELEVIEWER. You can use these as you would normally to view or both view and manipulate the DICOM data.

Release of Medical Records

Medical reports and images are available to physicians actively involved with the care of the patient via remote access. There is no charge for this service.

Medical Record Retention

Image and results of patient procedures are archived by each clinic in accordance with recommendations of the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. An archived file for adult patients will be retained for a period of 16 years after the date of the last visit. An archived file for a minor patient will be retained for 16 years after the minor reaches the age of majority, which is currently 19 years. Once the required time is completed, reports and images will be confidentially destroyed.
