Valley Medical Imaging

Services Offered

Diagnostic X-Ray

The general x-ray services at our Chilliwack, Langley and Abbotsford locations are now fully digital.

Diagnostic x-rays are some of the most powerful medical imaging tools available. Based on the symptoms presented by the patient, a physician can request specific x-rays to help diagnose many types medical conditions. X-rays are useful in the detection of pathology of the skeletal system as well as for detecting some disease processes in soft tissue. X-Rays allow the Radiologist to visualize certain internal body conditions with little or no invasive procedures.

No special preparation is required for x-rays including chest, bone/joint x-rays.

Diagnostic Mammography

This service is offered at our Langley clinic via a fully digital mammography system. A mammogram is an x-ray image of the breast. Mammography is the procedure used to generate a mammogram.

A baseline mammogram is an initial or first mammogram. Baseline images are used for comparison to later studies. Screening mammograms are routine mammography examinations in which the patient has no symptoms. Diagnostic mammograms are studies in which the patient does have a symptom.

Ultrasound

We offer Ultrasound at our Langley and Abbotsford clinics. Our Abbotsford and Chilliwack clinics are now fully digital. Ultrasound, also called sonogram or ultrasonogram, uses reflected sound waves to produce an image of organs and other structures in the body.

The sonographers at Valley Medical Imaging are ARDMS and CARDUP certified.

MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging or MRI is highly advanced technology that enables physicians to look into your body using magnets, radio waves, and computers to create extremely detailed pictures or "images" of your internal organs and structures.

Because MRI produces images from any angle with great clarity, it provides a wealth of diagnostic information more quickly and easily than many other tests or exploratory surgery.

The addition of MRI enhances the diagnostic medical imaging services already offered to patients and physicians at the our clinics.

The Clinic is located at the McCallum Medical Tower in Abbotsford. Please click on the link provided to view the Fraser Valley MRI website.
